Technology:
Enhancing student achievement and learning are key to the goal of the technology program. Students are given technology instruction on a bi-weekly basis in our iMac Computer Lab that is equipped with current curriculum software and has enough computers for all children. Teachers apply instructional practices to help students become critical thinkers, problem solvers, and lifelong learners. Technolgy serves as the thread found throughout the general curriculum.
Computer Lab
The St. John computer lab is full of 36 brand new iMac computers. We have recently upgraded our lab to fit our largest class and ensure that all students are able to get as much time on our computers as possible. Grades K-8 have computer time at least once a week for one hour. While here, our students are working on everything from word formatting to video editing and everything in between. We are very proud of our technology program at St. John school and have various computer projects on display throughout our website.
In addition to our upgraded computer lab, all classrooms are also equipped with computers so that students can have easy access to the computer when necessary. Each classroom has three or four eMac computers that are mainly used for either word processing, learning games, or as a source for online research.
