Extended Care

St. John the Baptist School Extended Care Program serves the needs of the families at our school.  It  provides a safe, reliable and caring Christian environment where the children enrolled at St. John the Baptist School, K through 8th Grade, enjoy socializing with their friends, are given the opportunity to make choices and decisions and, with the help of staff, learn to deal with and solve problems that may arise during their stay at Extended Care.

The safety and well being, both physicaland emotional, of each individual child are the prime concerns of our staff.

The creativity and talents of our staff makes a positive after-school experience for our children through various planned activities which are provided for them. Physical exercise in the form of supervised outdoor play is also an important part of our day, as well as quiet time when older children are expected to do homework and younger ones participate in story time and quiet activities. During free time, children can choose activities such as:

• Arts & Crafts
• SupervisedIndoor/Outdoor Play
• Computers
• Cooperative Games
• Sports
• Drama
• Baking on minimum days and occasionally a “G” rated movie.

We hope that these activities will enhance the child’s self-esteem and self-control that will result in positive expression and personal feelings.
